Introduction

Google Classroom is a third-party service hosted by Google that provides a platform for educators to manage classes, distribute assignments, and communicate with students. As part of our system, we offer seamless integration with Google Classroom, allowing lecturers to easily sync their student roster from MyUSJ to Google Classroom. This integration streamlines the process of setting up and managing your online classroom environment.

How Integration Works

With the Google Classroom integration, lecturers can:

  • Create a new Google Classroom directly from MyUSJ.
  • Sync the student roster from their MyUSJ course to the linked Google Classroom.
  • Ensure that student lists remain up-to-date with minimal manual effort.

Warning: Linking Existing Google Classrooms

Important: If you choose to link an existing Google Classroom to your MyUSJ course instead of creating a new one, the student roster in that Google Classroom may be overridden by the roster from MyUSJ. This means any students previously enrolled in the Google Classroom but not present in the MyUSJ course may be removed.

  • To avoid accidental data loss, it is recommended to create a new Google Classroom when possible.
  • Always double-check the student list after linking to ensure accuracy.

Note: You can only link Google Classrooms that are associated with your own Google account. Linking to courses owned by other accounts is not permitted for security and privacy reasons.

If you have any questions or concerns about the integration, please contact support for assistance.
