The Session tab provides an overview of all sessions within a course. Each session represents a scheduled class for the course.
What You See
- List of Sessions: Displays all sessions for the course, with dates and times.
- For each session, there are three main sections:
- Plan
- Attendance
- Summary
1. Plan
Before the session, lecturers should use the Plan section to outline the topics, activities, and objectives for the session. This helps ensure that the session is well-organized and that learning goals are clear.
What to include:
- Session objectives
- Topics to cover
- Activities or assignments
- Materials needed
2. Attendance
During the session, lecturers should use the Attendance section to record which students are present, absent, or late. This helps keep accurate records and can be useful for reporting and follow-up.
How to use:
- Click “Start taking attendance”
- Mark each student as present, absent
- Optionally, add notes for specific students (e.g., excused absence)
- Make sure “I certify that this session was conducted according to the specified schedule” is checked.
3. Summary
After the session, lecturers should complete the Summary section. This is where you reflect on what was accomplished, note any deviations from the plan, and record important outcomes or follow-up actions.
What to include:
- What was actually covered
- Student participation and engagement
- Any issues or challenges
- Follow-up actions or reminders for next session
